Kimberly Fullerton-Smith

Chicago native, Kimberly Fullerton-Smith  has been singing since the age of 3 and playing the piano since the age of 5. Born into a family of singers and musicians, Kimberly was very active in her church growing up. She became the lead musician for the adult choir at the age of 11, and she has been teaching and training voices ever since.

Kimberly holds the Bachelor of Arts degree in Music History from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she served as Assistant Conductor and was the only female musician for the Black Chorus for three years of her tenure.  While in the Champaign community, Kimberly used her gift to serve local churches and traveled extensively to West Virginia, Virgina, Atlanta, and Chicago as a musician and conductor for workshops and conferences.

Kimberly earned the Master’s degree in Music Education from DePaul University in Chicago. She is currently a music educator at South Holland School District 151, and the Director of the Lewis University Gospel Choir in Romeoville, Illinois. Kimberly has served as Minister of Music for several churches in the Chicagoland area, including Bethel Temple C.O.G.I.C in Gary, Indiana and Rehoboth Apostolic Worship Center in Chicago. She currently ministers at many local churches in Chicago as a musician and worship leader.

Kimberly released her first solo project entitled Garment of Praise in March of 2018 as an encouragement through contemporary and traditional gospel styles. It is available on iTunes, Apple music, YouTube, and Spotify.

Anointed at birth to do what she does, Kimberly does not take her gifting for granted, and developed her gift through formal training all the while giving all the praise, glory, and honor to God. While Kimberly has studied many genres of music, gospel music is at her heart. According to Kimberly, “Gospel (music) is not just a genre, but there is a message and need for it like no other kind of music. When I sing gospel, it is my job to minister the heart of God. I don’t want people to see me or hear me, I want them to hear from God. This is serious business that I don’t take lightly.”
